Well, maybe not the end of Windows, but for those people who have been waiting for Apple to make a low-end machine, their prayers have been answered.

For perspective - the new Mac mini is the size of five stacked CD jewelcases. It's faster than all but the newer Macs, those less than eighteen months old. It doesn't have quite enough RAM, but that's easily fixed for $100. AirPort and SuperDrives can be added. And you can pick the thing up and carry it back and forth to work, if that's what floats your boat.

The iPod shuffle is literally the size of a pack of chewing gum. Smaller than some of the 256 MB USB keychain drives selling for $50.

There are other nifty software releases and upgrades from Macworld Expo too, but these two are huge. Huge. But small.

I love Apple. I think one of the Mac minis is coming to my house after we get back from Mayo. I wish it could come before Mayo.....but there are Heavier Things on our minds and wallets.

If you do have the dough, and are in the market for a new machine, check this out. It's unbelievable.
