Kerry Kitties to the Infinite Power

It was decided -- not by me, mind you -- that the very first picture from my new digital camera (the camera I wrote of here) would be of Jerry, our Large Black Kitty. My daughter, Debby, is extremely fond of Jerry and carries him everywhere -- even into the shower. You'd think the shower isn't a place a kitty would love, but the Large Black Kitty just plops down at Debby's feet, closes his eyes, and purrs; as long as he doesn't get really doused, he seems to enjoy the shower. I think this cat would get into a hot tub if Debby took him. Jerry's littermate, Tom (the Small Black Kitty, who we call either Tommy or 'Idiot Cat,' depending on how loudly he's howling for more food at the time) doesn't enjoy the shower. Tommy doesn't enjoy much of anything, except eating and meowing.

Anyway, Debby decided that my first picture will be of Jerry. Now, this site isn't going to turn into Friday Cat Blogging. But I have found a good place to send the picture: The Infinite Cat Project. It's a cute idea, and Jer deserves some fame -- he's a great cat (he's resting comfortably on my left foot right now).

What prompts me to post about the ICP is not my kitty picture, although Jer does deserve worldwide adoration.

It's what you'll find about halfway down the page, with a subtitle (sorry, no permalink) of 'Conservatives are such lovely people.' On your way down the page to this graph, you'll see the guy is hawking bumper stickers that say 'Kitties For Kerry.' They're kind of cute, but I don't want to pay $3 for a bumper sticker that will be a relic in six weeks, so I'm going to pass this time. It seems Fox News found the site last week, and the stickers, and broadcast the URL, which understandably drove a lot of traffic to the site temporarily -- or at least he thought it was going to be temporary. After that traffic died down, the Head Kitty guy thought that would be the end of it.

He was wrong.

Since the day Fox discovered this web site there has been a concerted attack to try and shut it down. The latest trick involved bloating my bandwidth usage by running scripts that continually load and reload my pages. Bandwidth usage has ballooned six-fold since then but the techs at my host are addressing this problem as I write this. We have the culprit's IP addresses and legal steps will be taken if necessary.

All I want to point out is that these right-wing fascists will do ANYTHING to muzzle opposition to their plans to essentially control everything. Even two-bit web sites like this one.

Would someone please tell me why these self-professed Jesus/Bush lovers and flag wavers think that they're helping anyone, or anything, by attacking The Infinite Cat Project? The guy has a cute idea and a cute little sticker, and he's losing time and money because these right-wing asses have so much more hate in their hearts for dissent than they have love for America.

I'll even bet one or two of them wear those 'What Would Jesus Do' bracelets. I doubt Jesus would write scripts to tie up bandwidth. In fact, I don't think Jesus would approve of much of the Nixonian dirty politics that has permeated the Republican Party. They lie, cheat, steal, slander, and injure, and then have the nerve to call themselves the aggrieved and mistreated victims.

And conservatives wonder why liberals don't respect them. Here's a clue: Act as if you are worthy of respect.

Good grief.
